Moulton Falls Loop Drive

Moulton Falls Loop Drive

I’ve been a little MIA lately. Maybe winter blues got this little Jeep down. I don’t know but anyways I was able to go for a drive recently and it was pretty cool. One road loop three amazing waterfalls and hikes.

First up is Lucia Falls and hike. the drive to this falls is absolutely beautiful. Located in a 24-acre park with hiking trails and a few picnic tables is Lucia Falls. there is no swimming here since the water is sensitive fish spawning grounds. It is a great place to stop and take a hike or have a picnic.

Second up Moulton Falls. There is a small of the road parking lot for this one. It is in a 378-acre park. There is a viewing site for the falls, as well as a 2..5 mile hike up around the river that connect to Lucia Falls. If you hike just up around the bend you will see a beautiful arch bridge that is three stories high. This falls has hikes that lead up to the next falls we will talk about as well as to a few other places. Swimming is aloud at Moulton Falls, but at your own risk.

Yacolt Falls

Last but absolutely not least. Yacolt falls is beautiful green and mossy. There is a swinging bridge that connects to the other side of the river and a stair case to another hike. The bridge is locked open in the winter months so you won’t be able to cross over. During the summer months you can hike from Yacolt Falls to Moulton and vise versa and from what I have heard there is more stuff to see on the other side of the river. I will take a trip back soon and check it out.

So if you are in the Woodland Washington area and want a waterfall adventure this is a really great one. Happy adventuring.
